Everything is posted in chronological order in a forum organized by topic. Everyone has a voice that way.
NoctuWriMo's policy on free expression is inspired by two things:
Remember how it used to feel like what happened on the internet stayed on the internet? Pepperidge Farm remembers! NoctuWriMo has boundaries. You’re not supposed to build a network full of people who can influence your career or family on here. You can express yourself freely without gossipy family members seeing everything you say on here. It’s private. You can say funny and honest things and still stay employed.
Remember when we used to cyber anonymously with people in libertine parts of the world at weird times of the night instead of living in fear of a Twitter/X that functions like a 17th century pillory for shaming people? Yeah, let’s bring that back that vibe, even if cybering isn't the literal point of it and was not particularly common on the NaNoWriMo forums specifically. Jokes aside, this is about friendship and community.
